22 ROOMS

IMAGES TO LIFE

22 ROOMS is a collaborative performance by vocalist/composer Jessie Rivest and dancer Hailey McCloskey. Drawing tarot cards from the audience, the artists bring archetypal images to life via sound and movement, creating an immersive, dynamic experience.
Using improvisation with structured elements, they explore power, humour, darkness, and more on a vast palette of vocal timbres and physical gestures.
The performance is truly interdisciplinary, offering an abstract, sensual journey without a fixed narrative, inviting the audience to witness as well as participate in the unfolding of meaning through interconnected forms.
“The talented duo’s improvisations showcased a full range of the human condition in a playful setting.”
“I cried in the second piece, The words and the way they both embodied quick moving thoughts was very real for me.”
“It was so engaging to watch them interact with each other, the ability to express themselves so freely is something most people want–what they wish they could do.”
